Zipper Pouch

Happy Friday!!
This cute pouch is easy enough to
whip up in time to give to your
favorite mother, or make one
for yourself.

We used the tutorial from the Noodlehead
blog, found here.  This is a great tutorial
with really good instructions and
multiple size options.
We added our own touch by creating a
quilt block for the center.

Gather your supplies.  We chose 8 FQ's
from the latest CottonCrates Box.
We also added a grey linen looking piece
for the main fabric.
Create your quilt block.  We used the
1.25 X 2.5 flying geese BlocLoc ruler.
We made 8 flying geese and created a 5 1/2"
block for the center.  Added a 4 3/4" X 5 1/2" piece to
each side and a 2 1/2" X 14" piece to the
top of the block section. A separate
color was cut 4" X 14" to add to the bottom.
Creating 11" X 14" piece for the front of the bag.

We used a 7 1/2" X 14" piece for the upper back
and added another piece 4" X 14" of the
purple for the colored bottom section.  This
makes the 11" X 14"
piece we used for the back of the bag.
We lined ours with the lime green FQ from the
box.  Tip:Cut the lining pieces first and use the
fabric left to make the quilt block and zipper tab.
Follow the blog tutorial and finish assembling the
pouch.  Add a cute zipper pull to the zipper.
You could add a name or initial to the back.
Get creative, any quilt block would look good,
change up the colors.

Be sure to tag us with all of the wonderful
creations you make. @Cottoncrates
Have a happy Mother's day!!!

Cotton Crates

Some say he’s half man half fish, others say he’s more of a seventy/thirty split. Either way he’s a fishy bastard.
