Double Striped Half Square Triangle

Happy Friday again everyone!!

This weeks blog is a fun and pretty simple quilt block. The Double Striped Half Square Triangle.

This is a great block to use up those Fat Quarters you have been dying to do something with.

Lets get started.
Pick 4 of your favorite FQ's from your current CottonCrates box.
Cut 4 strips measuring 2 1/2" x 18"

Sew the strips together

You will now need to measure the height of  the strips. Mine are 8 1/4". So cut two squares that are 8 1/4 x 8 1/4.

You will now place one square right side up and the other directly on top right side down, but with the strips in the opposite direction.

Pin and stitch around all 4 sides with a 1/4" seam allowance.

Cut across the stitched square diagonally so that you have 4 triangles

Trim the corners of each triangle

Press open seams so you have 4 squares

Sew together 2 squares

Then sew together the two strips

That's it!!! Isn't it lovely. I just love the fabrics from June's box. They are so pretty!!
Now I just need to make the other blocks to make an adorable quilt.

Join us next week for an Envelope Clutch with this same line of fabrics.

Have a great weekend everyone, thanks for stopping by.

Cotton Crates

Some say he’s half man half fish, others say he’s more of a seventy/thirty split. Either way he’s a fishy bastard.
